As a Chicago wedding photography and videography team, we have the privilege of documenting some incredibly meaningful celebrations. Nicole and Peter’s Armour House wedding was one of those days that stayed with us long after it ended.
Set on the grounds of Armour House just outside of Chicago, their wedding brought together everything we love about fall weddings: rich color, intentional design, and moments that felt deeply emotional from beginning to end.
With a jewel-toned color palette, thoughtfully crafted DIY florals and decor, and a setting that naturally feels both grand and timeless, Nicole and Peter created a wedding that felt elevated while still incredibly personal.
From quiet moments in the morning to a reception filled with unforgettable emotion, their day was a beautiful reflection of who they are together.

Nicole & Peter’s Story
From the very beginning, Nicole and Peter’s relationship felt grounded in something genuine and deeply felt.
There’s a calmness to the way they’re together, but also a depth of emotion that reveals itself in the most meaningful moments. Throughout their wedding day, that emotional connection was impossible to miss.
The morning began with a quiet sense of anticipation as Nicole got ready, surrounded by her close friends and family. The soft fall light paired beautifully with the rich tones of the day, creating an atmosphere that felt warm and inviting. They got ready at Nicole’s parents’ home in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the warm sunshine shone through and illuminated the beautiful home. After a first look with Nicole’s father, the ladies boarded the trolley and we headed to our next location.
Peter spent the morning with his groomsmen in a beautiful home that belonged to one of his friends. It was clear even then how much the day meant to him. There was an emotional weight to the anticipation – not nervousness, but a deep awareness of what the day represented. As the trolley arrived to Peter’s location, Peter and his mother shared a first look that was emotional and heartfelt.
One of the most powerful moments of the day was their first look.
Set against the backdrop of the beautiful property that Peter spent the morning at, Peter’s reaction was immediate and emotional. It was one of those moments where everything else fades away. Nicole came prepared with a handkerchief to dry Peter’s happy tears. Immediately following, they share private vows. In the distant background, several of their friends were watching. Once Peter and Nicole made their way back to the trolley, everyone cheered in pure excitement.
Afterward, we explored the grounds of Armour House for portraits, taking advantage of the architecture, gardens, and fall textures that make this venue so iconic for Chicago estate weddings.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the estate and the rich tones of the season, guests gathered as Nicole made her way down the aisle.
Peter’s reaction was completely present, emotional, and full of love. There wasn’t a single person in attendance who didn’t feel the weight of that moment.
Every word spoken at the altar felt intentional, and every glance between them told a story of everything they’ve built together.
As they walked back down the aisle, officially married, there was a sense of joy and relief – like the beginning of something they had both been waiting for. They huddled on the steps in front of Armour House and cheered as the champagne and cocktail hour began.

Following the ceremony, guests transitioned into cocktail hour and the reception inside and outside the estate.
The design of the reception was one of the most unique aspects of the day.
Nicole and Peter incorporated DIY florals and decor, bringing their own creative vision to life in a way that felt both intentional and elevated. The jewel-toned palette added depth and richness to the space, complementing the historic interiors of Armour House beautifully.
We paused for a few iconic photos on the grand steps inside the Armour House which made for some truly classy yet editorial images.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the evening came during the reception, when Nicole’s brother surprised the couple by writing and performing a song just for them.
The room fell completely silent as he sang.
It was one of those rare moments where you could feel everyone fully present. They were completely drawn into the emotion of what was happening. Nicole and Peter’s reactions said everything, as they began to dance and sway along to the song.
From that point on, the celebration carried that same emotional energy: heartfelt speeches, a packed dance floor, and a night that felt deeply connected from start to finish.
