Getting Ready at Loews Chicago Hotel

One of the things couples love most about a Loews Chicago Hotel wedding is how seamlessly the entire wedding day can unfold in one location.

The morning began in the light-filled hotel suites overlooking downtown Chicago, where Sami spent the morning getting ready with her closest friends and family. There’s always a quiet excitement during this part of the day: champagne glasses clinking, final touches of makeup, and the anticipation of everything that’s about to happen.

Just a few floors away, Patrick and his groomsmen shared a relaxed morning adjusting ties and enjoying a few celebratory moments together before the day officially began.

Before the ceremony, Sami and Patrick shared a private first look overlooking the city.

With Chicago’s architecture rising around them and the lake just beyond the skyline, the moment felt cinematic yet incredibly intimate. First looks are often one of our favorite parts of a wedding day as photographers because they allow couples to pause, take a breath, and truly experience the day together before the celebration begins.

Patrick’s heartfelt reaction to seeing Sami as a bride was one of our favorite moments of the day.

Rooftop Ceremony at Loews Chicago Hotel

The Loews Chicago Hotel rooftop ceremony space is easily one of the most breathtaking ceremony locations in the city.

Perched above the streets of downtown Chicago, the rooftop offers sweeping views of the city – a setting that feels both dramatic and romantic.

Guests entered the rooftop ceremony space with champagne in-hand, while the thoughtful design by Yanni Design Studio created a refined and elegant atmosphere. Abundant florals and carefully curated textures complemented the city views while keeping the focus on Sami and Patrick, with the center of the ceremony space being the grand Chuppah.

When Sami walked down the aisle, the emotion in the space was undeniable. Patrick’s reaction said everything: a mixture of joy, admiration, and the realization that the moment they had been waiting for had finally arrived. Helene, Sami’s mother, gasped at the overwhelming joy of the moment and Patrick’s reaction. The air was filled with the beautiful sounds of a string quartet, setting the perfect ambiance for their ceremony.

Their ceremony was heartfelt and deeply personal, filled with meaningful vows and the warmth of being surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. Sami’s brother and Patrick’s sister played major roles in the ceremony, officiating and reading Sheva Brachot.

As they walked back down the aisle together, officially married, iconic Chicago buildings and the magnificent Chuppah behind them created a truly unforgettable moment.

Elegant Wedding Reception at Loews Chicago Hotel

Following the rooftop ceremony, guests moved stayed on the rooftop and enjoy music and drinks as the reception space was prepared.

The reception space felt warm, grand and inviting, with candlelight, elegant tablescapes, and lush floral arrangements continuing the sophisticated aesthetic of the day. The planning and design expertise of Clementine Custom Events ensured every element of the celebration flowed seamlessly from one moment to the next.

Before entering the reception room for the first time, Sami & Patrick partook in The Polish bread and salt wedding tradition, which “involves parents welcoming the newlyweds at the reception with bread (symbolizing prosperity/never going hungry) and salt (representing life’s struggles/endurance)”. The couple dips the bread in salt, eats it, and often toasts with vodka/water for good luck. 

Sami and Patrick’s reaction to the room reveal truly encapsulated how magnificent the room looked. Guests began filing in and went straight to the dance floor for dancing – a break from traditional reception norms.

From their grand entrance to heartfelt speeches that had guests both laughing and tearing up, the evening was filled with emotion and celebration.

As the evening continued, the dance floor never waned, and guests celebrated late into the night. Sami made a dress change that allowed her to move on the dance floor, and wow the guests.
